FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Weekly sessions provide a good foundation for creating lasting change and establishing a positive client-therapist relationship. Some individuals choose to come bi-weekly. I am flexible around this as each person and couple’s needs are different, but I have found that when new clients come twice a month it can be like starting over each time.
For how many sessions would I see you?
Most clients require from 10 to 30 sessions to experience significant change, though many clients notice positive changes and improvements after a few sessions. The duration of therapy is really up to you. It depends on your goals, the complexity of the situation, and your readiness to change. Counseling initially may stir up emotions that have been long repressed. As you learn to sit with uncomfortable feelings they begin to rule your life less. As you begin to hear the inner critic and ask it to take a back seat, you may feel lighter and freer.
How long does a session last?
Counseling sessions run 55 minutes. Sometimes, depending on availability, I will book longer sessions if the need arises, or you feel you want more time.
How much do sessions cost?
I charge $120 for 55 minutes. I am not on insurance panels at this time and I do not offer a sliding scale. If you require low cost counseling I can offer suggestions.
When do you see clients?
I offer day and evening appointments. Call to schedule an initial intake or click here and fill out the form online, and I will be in touch with you within 48 hours.
What forms of payment do you accept?
At this time I accept cash, check or credit/debit cards. You may also send me money via Venmo, PayPal or Zelle. I require payment at time of service.
How do I contact you?
Contact by phone or email is fine. My office phone number is 720-480-5145. My email is firstname.lastname@example.org. You will often get my confidential voicemail when you call as much of the time I spend in the office is with clients. I will return your call, or email promptly.
